Question 1

Is PaintPal free?

Accepted Answer

Yes! PaintPal is free to download and use, with no ads. You can draw, color, and collaborate with friends at no cost, including one free video call a month per room. There's an optional one-time $2.99 purchase to unlock extra coloring pages, and an optional subscription ($4.99/mo or $39.99/yr) for unlimited video calls plus every premium coloring page — but the core drawing and coloring experience is always free.

Question 2

Is PaintPal safe for kids?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. PaintPal is designed with child safety as a priority. There are no public chat rooms, no social feeds, and no way for strangers to contact your child. Drawing rooms use private codes that you share only with people you trust. We collect minimal data and never sell personal information.

Question 3

How does collaborative drawing work?

Accepted Answer

One person creates a drawing room and shares the room link or code with a friend or family member. Everyone who joins sees the same canvas and can draw on it at the same time — with built-in video chat so kids can see and talk to each other while they create. Choose from coloring book pages to color together or switch to free draw mode. Strokes appear in real time, so it feels like drawing together at the same table, even when you're apart.

Question 4

What devices does PaintPal work on?

Accepted Answer

PaintPal is available as a free app on iPhone and iPad from the App Store. You can also use it on any device with a web browser by visiting paintpal.fun. This means kids on different devices (for example, one on an iPad and one on a laptop) can still draw together.

Question 5

Do I need an account to use PaintPal?

Accepted Answer

You need a free account to create or join drawing rooms. Sign-up is quick and only requires an email address. This helps keep rooms private and secure.

Question 6

What iOS version does PaintPal require?

Accepted Answer

PaintPal requires iOS 16.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 16.0 or later on iPad. You can also use PaintPal on any device with a modern web browser at paintpal.fun — no download required.

Question 7

Can kids color together, or just free draw?

Accepted Answer

Both! PaintPal includes a gallery of coloring book pages that kids can swap between and color together in real time while chatting on video. There's also a free drawing mode for open-ended creativity. Kids can save their shared creations to the camera roll. An optional $2.99 one-time purchase unlocks additional coloring pages.
